Summary: Ductile iron profiles are mainly alloys of iron, carbon and silicon, in which the carbon content exceeds the amount that can be retained in the austenite solid solution at the eutectic temperature. The graphite ball in the organization is small and round, the spheroidization rate is high, the number of balls is large, there is no intergranular carbide, and the mechanical properties are both high strength and high plasticity.
Ductile iron profiles are mainly alloys of iron, carbon and silicon, in which the carbon content exceeds the amount that can be retained in the austenite solid solution at the eutectic temperature. The graphite ball in the organization is small and round, the spheroidization rate is high, the number of balls is large, there is no intergranular carbide, and the mechanical properties are both high strength and high plasticity.
It is precisely because of the unique components and characteristics contained in it that the ductile iron profile has uniform and compact structure, good pressure and air tightness, strong wear reduction performance, smooth surface quality, high dimensional accuracy, small machining allowance, uniform hardness distribution, high tensile strength, no shrinkage, porosity, slag inclusion, sand holes and other defects, superior mechanical properties and a series of advantages, one of the more prominent is its high strength and high toughness combined with excellent fatigue resistance.
Do you know how to form ductile iron profiles? It is very simple, first the gray cast iron water is obtained after spheroidizing treatment, and the precipitated graphite is spherical; the spheroidizing treatment of spheroidal graphite means that the size of metal particles becomes smaller, which will also improve the strength and hardness of the material.
The purpose of normalizing this ball iron is to obtain the pearlite matrix tissue, refine the grain and uniform tissue to improve the mechanical properties of the casting. Sometimes normalizing is also the preparation of ductile iron surface quenching in the organization, normalizing is divided into high temperature normalizing and low temperature normalizing.
The high temperature normalizing temperature of ductile iron profiles is generally not more than 950~980 ℃, and the low temperature normalizing is generally heated to the total folding temperature range of 820~860 ℃. After normalizing, four people are generally required to be treated to eliminate the internal stress generated during normalizing. Because ductile iron profiles have higher strength, better toughness and plasticity than ordinary gray cast iron, they are often used in the manufacture of internal combustion engines, auto parts and agricultural machinery.
